Griffin most recently served as the commercial plan president for Anthem’s affiliated health plan in New York and led Anthem’s enterprise-wide pharmacy business. Before joining Anthem, Griffin held leadership roles at Medco International.
“Brian has built an impressive record of accomplishment and is widely regarded throughout our organization for his commitment to meeting and exceeding the expectations of our members and ensuring access to high quality, affordable healthcare. Brian’s appointment is a result of our strong internal succession plan and our focus on the development of the talented leaders within our organization. In addition to welcoming Brian to Anthem’s executive leadership team, I would also like to thank Ken Goulet for his many contributions to our company and wish him the best in his well-deserved retirement,” Anthem President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Swedish said.
Griffin begins his new role on September 1.
