Announcement Coming on Indiana Biosciences Research Institute

Announcement Coming on Indiana Biosciences Research Institute The Indiana Biosciences Research Institute is located in the 16 Tech Biotechnology Research & Training Center.

An announcement Wednesday about the $350 million Indiana Biosciences Research Institute will include some big-name participants. IBRI Chief Executive Officer David Broecker will provide details along with Governor Mike Pence, Lilly Endowment Inc. CEO Clay Robbins and Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) CEO John Lechleiter.

Also expected at the ceremony is Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-88) and Senator Luke Kenley (R-20).

The center was first announced in 2013 and is the cornerstone of the 16 Tech life sciences mega-campus that is beginning to take shape near the main IUPUI campus. Broecker previously served as interim chief operating officer before becoming CEO mid-2015.

IBRI’s mission is to be a magnet for world class researchers. It will focus on addressing major, global medical concerns such as cardiovascular disease and metabolic disorders.
