A recent overseas economic development mission appears to be paying off for a Madison County city. Home Design Products in Anderson is planning an $8 million expansion that could create 15 jobs. Mayor Kevin Smith points out the announcement follows a trade mission to Israel where he met with officials at Keter Group, which is the parent company of Home Design Products. HDP currently employs more than 130 at the facility.

The company also runs an operation in Alexandria.

The Herald Bulletin reports Anderson's city council is set to take up a 10-year tax abatement request on the expansion next week.

ANDERSON, Ind. – Following a trade mission by Mayor Smith, HDP announces $8 million invest and expansion.

HDP (Home Design Products), a member of the Keter Group, has announced plans to invest $8,000,000 to expand its operation located in Anderson, Indiana. During the recent economic development trade mission to Israel, Mayor Kevin Smith and Interim Economic Development Director Greg Winkler met with the Chairman of the Keter Group and discussed this investment and expansion of the Anderson facility. The $8,000,000 expansion will bring 15 new jobs to the City of Anderson in addition to the 136 jobs that are currently in the city.

“Our efforts to build long-term relationships with the City’s current company partners have proven to benefit our community,” said Mayor Kevin Smith. “Continued world-class company investment proves Anderson is truly a world-class City.”
