The Indianapolis Airport Authority will this morning announce new nonstop service. The airport says, in addition to being the airport’s first nonstop service to the new city, the route will serve as a connection to several other popular destinations.
The announcement is set for this morning at 10:00 at the Indianapolis International Airport.
The new destination will mark the latest addition to the airport’s roster of nonstop routes. The authority says it has added 24 new nonstops since 2014. The latest came last week, when the airport announced new Frontier Airlines service to Philadelphia International Airport. In September, American Airlines announced new nonstop flights from Indianapolis to New York City. The service began last week. Also that month, Frontier Airlines detailed new nonstop service to Fort Meyers, Florida. In February, Southwest Airlines announced a nonstop route to Dallas Love Field, which is the eighth-largest destination market connected to Indianapolis International Airport.
Indianapolis International Airport reported a nearly 7 percent increase in passengers in 2015 compared to the previous year. In all, IND offers more than 40 nonstop destinations.
