Airport Land Set For Sale

A re-scheduled auction of 320 acres of land owned by Indianapolis International Airport is set for Saturday. The sale is part of the Indianapolis Airport Authority’s larger effort to return around 3,200 acres to "productive use." The authority board is also expected to approve a memorandum of understanding that involves transferring conservation property to the town of Plainfield.
Last month, the board announced a similar MOU with the Hendricks County Park Board. Collectively, the IAA is divesting itself from nearly 2,00 acres of conservation land.
The properties up for sale include the former Speedway Airport and the Stanley Cove neighborhood land. You can connect to more information about the November 21 auction that will be conducted by Columbia City-based Schrader Real Estate and Auction Co. beginning at 10 a.m. at The Palms Banquet and Conference Center in Plainfield by clicking here.
