$36M Senior Living Project Marks Milestone

A $36 million addition to a senior care community in West Lafayette has welcomed its first residents. The Terraces of Westminster Village includes 54 new, so-called "hybrid homes."
The first of three buildings, which will each have 18 residences, is complete. The other two, which are currently under construction, are expected to open later this year. In all, Westminster says it will add about 100 to its current population of 350 this year.
Westminster Village Director of Sales and Marketing Dawn Walker says the residences are designed to combine the size of a single-family home with the conveniences of senior living. She says the units feature amenities including a four-season room, heated bathroom floors and a gas log fireplace.
The community opened in 1976 and has been expanded and remodeled over the years. The 42-acre campus includes single-family houses, independent living apartments, assisted living units and hybrid homes.
