Our partners at WEHT-TV report the owner of the Chandler Speedway, Reno Fontana, had his second bankruptcy filing dismissed, releasing the freeze on auctioning the property.
Two weeks ago, a last-minute bankruptcy filing by Fontana prompted a judge to call off the anticipated auction of the property, which is located about 19 miles northeast of Evansville.
The station reports officials are writing paperwork to have another auction, according to William Wilson Auctions.
The speedway features a drag strip and oval track and opened in the 1960s.
Another auction could be scheduled as soon as late October, although Fontana told the station he maintains there will be no auction.
