Vincennes to Kick Off National Conference

Subscribe NowVincennes University is hosting a national conference geared toward recruiters of advanced manufacturing technical talent. The 2019 FAME AMT Academy will run Monday through August 2 and offer information on the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education Advanced Manufacturing Technician program at VU.
The university says 70 attendees from 13 states, including representatives from the National Association of Manufacturers and Indiana Manufacturers Association, will attend the academy.
During the event, participants will meet with AMT students, learn about promoting female diversity and discuss soft skill development and safety. They will also will tour the Advanced Manufacturing Center located in the Technology Building as well as other VU facilities.
The university is hosting the academy for the second time in three years.
“VU is leading the way in the state of Indiana with industry-driven work and learn partnerships all across the state,” VU’s AMT Supervisor Tim Hedrick said in a news release. “Ours is the first and currently the only chapter to be partners with FAME and the Indiana Manufacturers Association.”
