Holcomb was joined by Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch and Senator Todd Young (R-IN) at the announcement event. During his address to supporters, the governor touted the state’s low unemployment rate, job creation numbers and fiscal reserves reached during this first full term.
Holcomb will face at least one challenger for the governor’s office in 2020. Former Indiana State Health Commissioner Dr. Woody Myers last week announced his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor. Last month, State Senator Eddie Melton (D-Gary) formed an exploratory committee as he considers a possible run as well.
