Upgrades Proposed for Vigo County Industrial Park
The Vigo County Redevelopment Commission is looking to give a boost to the county’s industrial park. The Tribune-Star reports the Vigo County Industrial Park Improvement Plan calls for $2.6 million in upgrades, though the effort could ultimately surpass $3 million.
Some of the upgrades proposed by the plan include various road improvements, routine railroad maintenance, and railroad crossing upgrades, according to the publication. The project would be funded with Tax Increment Financing dollars, which our partners at WTHI-TV report would mean no taxpayer dollars would be used.
The commission did not vote on the proposal, but could do so at its July meeting.
