Regional Pitch Competition Comes to Evansville

EVANSVILLE -

The Venture Club of Indiana is hosting a regional pitch competition Tuesday in Evansville. The event aims to connect local entrepreneurs and growth potential companies with investors.

The event will begin with pitches from each company followed by a question and answer period with the judges. One regional winner will receive a cash prize and in-kind services valued at more than $5,000.

The winner is also invited to move on to the Venture Club of Indiana’s Innovation Showcase in Indianapolis on August 22 for a chance to compete for cash, in-kind services and networking opportunities with Indiana’s Angel and Venture Investor communities.

The competition is open to the public. Partners for the event include Gutwein Law, The Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, InGen Technologies and Evansville Tech-on-Tap and Elevate Ventures Southwest.

      Kouts Business Owner Indicted

      A Hoosier woman has been indicted for failing to submit payroll taxes at her two health care clinics, Kouts Health Care Inc. and Kouts Family Health Care Inc.  between 1999 and 2015. Kathy Lynch allegedly withheld payroll from her employees’ paychecks but failed to submit over $500,000 of the withheld taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.

      Music for All Names Board Members

      Music for All has elected Rodney Dorsey (pictured) and Michael Bogers to its board of directors. Dorsey serves as director of bands at Indiana University and is also professor of music at the Jacobs School of Music, a position he has held since 2018.       Manufacturer Growing in Boone County

      Zionsville-based Gravel Conveyors Inc. has announced plans to expand. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the company, which manufactures commercial materials placement machines, will invest nearly $7.5 million to add to its Boone County facility and create nearly 40 jobs by the end of 2022.
