Bloomington Hosts Trades District Launch Party
The city of Bloomington’s Trades District has officially opened. The city will Friday host a ribbon cutting and launch party to showcase companies in the district and additional properties available for development.
The launch party will feature tours of co-working space and business incubator, The Mill, located in a former Showers Brothers Furniture Company plant. Future development sites will be showcased to offer an idea of the district’s future plans, and five final designs for the public artwork to be installed at the Trades Plaza will be displayed.
“With The Mill at full steam and the infrastructure in place, the Trades District is rapidly coming into view,” said Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton in a news release. “The investment made by the state, the City, the university, and a number of individual and corporate investors will amplify Bloomington’s thriving tech culture and grow good-paying jobs.”
