Henry Announces Grants For Nonprofits

Subscribe NowFort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry has announced that eight local nonprofits will be awarded funding from the city’s federal Community Development Block Grant. The $170,000 grant will support programs that focus on shelter, employment skills, domestic violence support and youth development.
The organizations that will receive grants are:
- Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne
- Center for Nonviolence
- Just Neighbors Interfaith Homeless Network
- Literacy Alliance
- Lutheran Social Services of Indiana, LSSI Works
- Volunteer Center/RSVP
- Vincent Village
- YMCA
“City government cannot work alone to improve our community,” said Mayor Henry in a news release. “We need the help of our outstanding nonprofit agencies, like those that we are funding this year. Together, we can provide opportunities for a better life for all of our residents.”
