T.P.A. Park Aviary Reopens in Frankfort
T.P.A. Park Aviary has officially reopened in Frankfort. Frankfort Parks says the newly-renovated park will be handicap accessible and include a covered “feeding” area, waterfall, seating areas and a winding concrete path.
Parks Superintendent Travis Sheets says new features were funded by the Community Foundation’s donation of $45,000, which was used to buy building materials.
“We are excited about the new exhibits and the new birds for people to see,” he said in a news release,“Every bird will be identified with nameplates, which will help visitors identify each bird and learn more about them. We will have nearly 300 birds in the aviary when it opens.”
The aviary will be open to visitors through the first week of August.
