WHITESTOWN -

Michigan-based Opus Packaging Group has announced plans to establish an operation in Whitestown. The packaging and supplies manufacturer says it will invest nearly $3 million in the Boone County operation and create up to 43 jobs by the end of 2022.

Construction on the operation is underway and expected to be complete by July. Opus Packaging Group says the facility will allow it to boost production for clients in Indiana and throughout the Midwest. The company currently has operations in Michigan, Ohio and Illinois and employs about 375 associates. It plans to begin hiring for positions including customer service, maintenance, machine operators, sales and management immediately.

The Whitestown facility will produce graphic packaging, custom partitions, packaging supplies and more.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Opus Packaging up to $240,000 in conditional tax credits based on the job creation plans. The town of Whitestown is also supporting the project.
