Performance Lab uses a field test known as the Performance Climate Survey, which provides insights into a company’s performance culture. Founding Partner Bryan Brenner, who is also the CEO of FirstPerson, says the firm has already landed a number of early customers, including Goodwill Industries, the Indy Chamber and the Central Indiana Community Foundation.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Brenner says the Performance Lab model is about the climate of the entire organization and how it’s doing on two specific strategies.
"Business strategy – is that strategy working? Do their employees know how to come into that and make a difference every day? And is it the kind place people want to be?" said Brenner. "The word ‘climate’ is carefully chosen. It’s not just about the culture or how people are feeling."
Brenner says Performance Lab creates a more cohesive approach for companies to measure more difficult areas of their performance culture. He says executive teams who perform well are those that measure as much as they can.
"For our customers who are high-growth and who care about their people, being high-performing businesses is critical to their success and if we can add a component and an optional something they can turn to for support in getting there and they can network with others like them to become better, that makes our whole business better. It makes our community better and it serves those clients really well."
