Students will work with a faculty member at one of the schools to do research projects following extensive training in statistical techniques and software.
The grant funds three years of computational social science research for 10 students nationwide, with four spots reserved for Saint Mary’s students this summer.
“This grant supports the great social science research being conducted at Saint Mary’s,” Spencer said in a news release. “This program takes what is unique about Saint Mary’s, the close faculty-student mentorship, and puts it on a national scale, for students from all over the country to have access to our exceptional education.”
