Nickel Plate Bar & Grill Closing
A staple in the Fishers community is set to close later this month after 28 years in business. Nickel Plate Bar & Grill has been serving giant pork tenderloin sandwiches and other fare since 1991, but will close on April 20, according to a Facebook post from its owners.
The building on East 116th Street has been sold to Indianapolis-based Browning Investments, who will soon begin construction on a $157 million project that will dramatically change both sides of the street, prompting the closure of the restaurant. Browning and the City of Fishers are working together to save the building, which was built in the 1880’s.
From the Facebook post- "Over the past 28 years we have been fortunate to have an AMAZING staff ! Their loyalty and dedication will always be appreciated.
We have enjoyed serving our guests over the years. We truly appreciate all of you and the great memories. We hope to see as many of you as possible before the 20th ! It has been a pleasure being a part of Fishers, watching it grow and prosper. We have enjoyed the ride."
