The funds will support financial literacy programs and will be used to support the organization’s mission of preparing young people to succeed in the global economy by delivering entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness programs to students across a 30-county service area.
Junior Achievement’s programming includes both in-school and capstone programs. In-school programs are designed to match students at each grade level and include a variety of engaging hands-on activities and games as well as e-learning opportunities.
“The generous grant from the Community Foundation of Fort Wayne will help us to continue to deliver JA programs to every school system in Allen County, and 73% of all Allen County students receive JA programming! Our ability to reach such a large number of young people truly sets us apart and provides the financial literacy programming that students need to become financially responsible adults.” Lena Yarian, president of Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana, said in a news release.
