Commission Issues RFQ for Riverfront Property
The Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission is issuing a request for qualifications for teams interested in developing the site next to Promenade Park on the city’s riverfront. The request follows the city’s announcement that Minnesota-based Continental Property Group was unable to meet the conditions of a previously-approved economic development agreement for a $62 million mixed-use riverfront development.
A committee of Redevelopment Commissioners, City staff and a representative from Land Collective, the consultant team leading the Riverfront Implementation Framework, will review the qualifications and select potential candidates for the project.
“I am excited by the interest I am receiving from both local and national developers in this property,” said Nancy Townsend, redevelopment director, in a news release. “This property is critical to the success of our ongoing downtown and riverfront development work, and I’m confident the final project will be something our community can take pride in.”
The request can be viewed by clicking here and asks interested development teams to submit qualifications, portfolios and concepts for the site to the Redevelopment Department by March 22 .
