Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Samuel Allen has gifted $5 million to his alma mater’s business school. Allen’s gift will create an endowed deanship to be known as the Samuel R. Allen Dean of the Krannert School of Management.
The 1975 industrial management graduate began working with Deere while still at Purdue, and was named president and CEO in 2009, and chairman the following year.
“The Krannert School was very important in giving me a foundation for my career, as well as introducing me to a wonderful organization,” Allen says. “I’m happy to give back to a school and university that have meant so much to me through the years.”
The gift will provide unrestricted funds to allow the school to invest in strategic initiatives.
