Evansville Regional Airport experienced its highest level of passenger traffic in over a decade in 2018. EVV's annual traffic grew nearly seven percent in 2018 compared to the prior year, topping 235,000 passengers. The airport's total number of travelers also grew last year to nearly 500,000 people.

EVV's Executive Director Nate Hahn says the airport experienced 10 percent growth in traffic in the second quarter of last year alone, which coincided with a 10 percent decline in airfares, increased capacity and Allegiant's new nonstop flights to Destin, Florida.

“We are very pleased with our growth and EVV’s position within the air travel market,” said Hahn. “Our region continues to respond to the additional capacity that we’ve added over the last few years, and we remain grateful for this support that allows us to continue digesting new growth, sustaining, and then growing even more.”

Hahn says the airport's terminal modernization project, completed in December 2018, also enhanced the flying experience. Renovations included a dedicated TSA PreCheck lane, nursing rooms for mothers, a kid's area and new business lounge.
