The list was determined by a survey of nearly 4,000 executives, directors and analysts who rated companies in their own industries based on criteria such as investment value, quality of management and ability to attract talent.
Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. (NYSE: SPG) and Fort Wayne-based Steel Dynamics Inc. (Nasdaq: STLD) are the two Indiana representatives on the list. However, there are no Indiana companies on the top 50 "All-Stars" rankings.
More than 50 industries are represented on the list. The companies included on the list were selected from a pool of about 1,500 candidates. The top 5 companies on the list are:
- Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL)
- Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN)
- Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK.A)
- Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS)
- Starbucks Corp. (Nasdaq: SBUX)
