The Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute has selected Chris Watts as its next president. Watts, a public affairs veteran in Indianapolis, succeeds John Ketzenberger, who stepped down from the position in June.

Watts is a former vice president of research and communications for the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. He also served as a special assistant to former Indianapolis Mayor Stephen Goldsmith in the late 1990s.

"We’re excited to announce Chris Watts as President of the Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute," said Katrina Hall, chair of the IFPI Board of Directors. "After 32 years, the Institute’s mission is more relevant than ever; we look forward to working with Chris on a research agenda exploring issues of how Indiana collects and spends taxpayer money, and the impacts on Hoosiers."

The IFPI is an independent research organization that analyzes state and local tax and budgetary policies. Watts calls the institute a "respected, impartial authority on state tax and fiscal policy matters."
