(Nasdaq: BASI) has selected Robert Leasure as president and chief executive officer. Leasure, who most recently served as managing partner and president of management consulting firm LS Associates LLC in Kentucky, will also become a member of the company’s board of directors.
BASi says Leasure has worked with the company’s board and management team since September 2016 to help guide operations and assist with restructuring efforts and developing a growth strategy. Those efforts included the company’s refinancing and its acquisition of Seventh Wave Laboratories Inc. last year.
"I couldn’t be more excited to have such a strong leader and visionary as Mr. Leasure in this role," said Gregory Davis, chairman of the board for BASi. "He is a champion of our collaborative culture and has an incredible ability to motivate and energize our teams, partners, and clients. His vision, strategy, and successful execution track record are exactly what BASi needs as we enter our next phase of growth for the Company."
The board says Leasure’s ability to develop and work collaboratively with BASi’s management team and to create and execute on visions for the future make him "critical" to growing the company. Last month, BASi reported a full-year net loss, most of which was due to one-time expenses related to the Seventh Wave acquisition.
