Indianapolis-based Collective Alternative has hired Dave Strantz as director of account services and Derek Heim as content specialist. Strantz will direct client accounts and manage internal communications for departments while ensuring the team stays on target to meet clients’ strategic goals. Heim will assist in brand messaging development, social media marketing, and content creation.  

Strantz previously served as digital media specialist and project manager for Ball State University. He has more than 20 years of communications and account management experience in agency and nonprofit sectors. Strantz holds a Bachelor of Science in telecommunications and journalism from Ball State University. 

Heim is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in public relations at Ball State University and is set to graduate in May. He serves as executive director of public relations, marketing and promotions for Ball State University’s student-run public relations firm, The McKinley Avenue Agency and is president of PRSSA.
