The Central Indiana Community Foundation says it has restructured its staff in an effort to better execute its mission. The Indianapolis-based organization says the transition will set the stage for its new five-year strategic plan, the full details of which are set to be announced in April.

The CICF has a staff of 45 full-time employees and says the restructuring will enable it to more effectively create change through partnerships with donors and local organizations. 

"We’re going to help build a community where everyone has an opportunity to achieve the American Dream. It’s ambitious, but it’s important, and we’re taking our commitment seriously,” said Brian Payne, chief executive officer of CICF. “To do that, we’ve got to have the best people in the right jobs, and internal systems that maximize productivity, efficiency and results.”

Among the changes is a new department of community leadership and effective philanthropy. The organization says the department, which will be led by Vice President Tamara Winfrey-Harris (pictured), will be tasked with creating social impact by leading on critical community issues; growing, leveraging, and advising philanthropic assets; and making wise charitable grants.

The restructuring also includes several promotions and transitions, including:

• Rob MacPherson (pictured) – transition to vice president of development and strategy

• Sarah Cowart – promotion to director of marketing and communications; former communications manager

• Ben Snyder – transition to marketing and communications manager; former marketing manager

• Alicia Collins – promotion to director of community leadership; former director of community collaborations

• Andrew Black – promotion to director of community leadership; former senior community investment officer

• Laurie Burns – transition to community impact officer; former community collaboration and impact analyst

• Clayton De Fur – promotion to senior community leadership officer; former community investment officer

• Diane Schussel – promotion to senior community leadership officer; former community investment officer

• Shanna Young – transition to scholarship officer; former community investment officer for Hamilton County Community Foundation

"It is with great deliberation and confidence that we are making these changes," said Payne. "I strongly believe these decisions will help us better serve the community, our partners and our donors."
