Plews Shadley Racher and Braun LLP has elected Peter Racher as managing partner of the firm, effective January 1. He succeeds John Moriarty, who will conclude his service in this role at the end of 2018 and will continue to focus on his work in the areas of litigation, insurance coverage and environmental law.

Racher prosecutes and defends environmental cost recovery claims, helps clients analyze environmental risks, and handles a broad range of litigation matters. He is lead counsel in a pending lawsuit under the Indiana Access to Public Records statute against the state Department of Correction seeking to compel the production of records related to carrying out executions by lethal injection in Indiana. Last month, an Indianapolis judge ordered the DOC to comply with the records request.

In addition to Racher, the following Plews Shadley Racher & Braun partners have been elected to serve on the firm’s Management Committee for 2019: Christopher Braun, Jeffrey Claflin, Shelley Jackson, George Plews and Amy Romig.
