Amber Maze has been hired as Holocaust education and program coordinator for the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis. This full-time position is shared in equal partnership with the CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center. Maze is responsible for overseeing Holocaust education for the Indianapolis Jewish community and providing Holocaust education resources and programming to students, teachers and the general community in central Indiana.

She will work closely with JFGI and CANDLES staff to increase awareness of the Holocaust and the relevance of its lessons to society today, to update and strengthen curricular resources and programming, and to establish and nurture collaborations with Indianapolis institutions.

Amber received a bachelor of arts degree in Anthropology from Ball State University and a master’s degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from Stockton University in Pomona, New Jersey. While working toward her undergraduate and graduate degrees, she had the opportunity to visit concentration camps and meet with Holocaust survivors as she served on the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s inaugural Student Board on Genocide Prevention; took part in the 2008 Slavia Bioarchaeology Field Study in Drawsko, Poland; worked as the Advocacy Intern for the Enough Project in Washington, D.C. and assisted in the implementation of the Stockton Study Tour to Germany and Poland.
