Indiana Companies Among ‘Just 100’

The ranking, according to the publication, features companies that are "taking the public interest into their own hands and generating better returns for themselves and society in the process."
Forbes, along with nonprofit JUST Capital, surveyed 81,000 Americans about what they wanted to see most from the largest businesses in the country. Some of the most popular answers included paying workers fairly, treating customer well and protecting their privacy, and creating abundant job opportunities.
Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ANTM) is the highest-ranked Hoosier company on the list at number 52. Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) is ranked at number 58, followed by Columbus-based Cummins at 80.
Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) tops the list, followed by Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTL), Google parent Alphabet Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOGL) and Texas Instruments Inc. (Nasdaq: TXN).
