Illinois Recycler to Set Up Shop in Indy
Illinois-based Quincy Recycle Paper Inc. is planning to open a new plant in Indianapolis. According to documents filed with the city, the company will invest nearly $2.5 million to rehab a more than 122,000-square-foot building on the city’s east side and add two dozen jobs by 2023.
Quincy Recycle expects to begin operations in early 2019. The company says its investment will include equipment such as balers, a shredder, a cutter, conveyors, compactor, and various vehicles. The new jobs will also have an average wage of $20 per hour.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission has approved a five-year personal property tax abatement for the project.
The city says Quincy Recycle has agreed to participated in the Hiring Incentive for Re-Entry Development, or HIRED, program, which aims to provide jobs to people re-entering the workforce after being convicted of a crime. The company plans to employ five HIRED workers at an average wage of $14.00 per hour and if the HIRED goals are met, Quincy could receive an additional two years of tax abatement.
Quincy Recycle provides paper, plastic and food waste recycling services to various industries. The company has six other locations throughout the Midwest.
