"Working across branches, stepping out behind the bench and figuring out solutions to some of society’s biggest issues has been our charge," she says. Rush will be honored at the chamber’s annual Awards Dinner along with Community of the Year, Jasper; Dynamic Leader of the Year, Carmel-based KAR Auction Services Inc. (NYSE: KAR) Chief Executive Officer Jim Hallett; and Business Leader of the Year, Purdue University President Mitch Daniels.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman, Rush said the judicial system’s reach is broad. "We have 1.4 million cases filed in Indiana, so there’s two people on each case, so really it’s a public institution used about more than any other," she said.
The chamber’s keynote speaker this year is J.D. Vance, a venture capitalist and author, who is a partner with AOL founder Steve Case in Washington D.C.-based VC firm Revolution. He was in Indianapolis last year as part of the pair’s Rise of the Rest competition that is designed to highlight high-growth businesses in areas of the country typically ignored as innovators.
