Forklift-Tracking Tech Wins Innovation Showcase
An Evansville-based business is the winner of top prize at the recent Innovation Showcase in Indianapolis. Quarion Technology Inc. develops tracking and control technology for forklift equipment and President Eric Pryor says the $10,000 in winnings will help the three-year-old startup boost its reach through increased marketing and sales efforts. The technology, Quarion says, can help eliminate accidents, injuries and property damage associated with forklifts by providing "real-time, three-dimensional tracking and control."
The 10th annual event, hosted by the Indiana Venture Club and the Indianapolis-based Heritage Group, involves five minute pitches to a panel of entrepreneurial-focused judges, as well as networking opportunities with fellow startups and investors. Attendees included entrepreneurs, venture capital firms and executives from existing businesses from throughout the Midwest.
