Monthly Home Sales in Central Indiana Down Slightly
Indianapolis-based F.C. Tucker Co. Inc. says the number of homes sold in September decreased 2.1 percent in central Indiana, compared to the same month in 2017. Inventory also continues to shrink, the real estate firm says, helping drive up average sale prices year-to-date 7.6 percent to $214,278 in the 15-county region.
F.C. Tucker says homes sold quicker last month, compared to September 2017. Chief Executive Officer Jim Litten says "the housing market remains in sellers’ favor as we move towards the end of 2018. While there was a slight dip in sales, sellers should be encouraged by quick sales and higher home prices, and buyers will be pleased that inventory decreased only slightly for the first time this year and offers homes at a variety of prices."
Of the 15 counties in the region, F.C. Tucker says Decatur County’s sales growth increased the most at 45 percent. Hamilton County’s average home sale price was the highest in the region at $321,448.
