Indiana 811 has appointed George Kemp to its board of directors. He is director of safety and quality assurance for MetroNet. He will represent the telecommunications sector on the full board and will also serve on the damage prevention subcommittee.

Founded in 1981, Indiana 811 is a free statewide system, designed to save time, money, costly lawsuits, and dramatically reduce accidental damage to underground utilities by providing a free number, 811, for residents and business to call to submit a locate request and have utility lines clearly marked. The nonprofit corporation is comprised of nearly 25 industry leaders from a variety of utility companies throughout the state of Indiana. The board members specialize in utility damage prevention.

MetroNet Inc. has been serving the Indiana community since 2005 and is eager to have such an experienced representative appointed to the Indiana 811 board of directors.
