"Oz" Nelson Logistics and Supply Chain Management Center for Excellence, named for the former chairman and chief executive officer of UPS, includes workstations with specialized industry software, offices and support staff for students in the program.
The center’s naming resulted from a $1.2 million fundraising campaign that Nelson and Upland-based Avis Industrial Corp. supported. Nelson spent nearly four decades with UPS, including serving as chairman and CEO from 1989 to 1996. He was part for the Ball State Foundation Board of Directors for 12 years, a member of the Miller College of Business Dean’s Executive Board since it launched in 2003 and was a committee member for three of Ball State’s capital campaigns.
