Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has named Jackie Wilson associate dean of student affairs. She brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education, with roles in student housing, occupancy management, crisis response, student affairs theory and academic skills for life-long learning. In her new role, Wilson will supervise residence life and housing, as well as oversee student health and wellness services.

She spent her formative academic and professional years earning a bachelor’s degree in English from Earlham College in Richmond, working as registrar at Valparaiso University’s School of Law and serving as assistant director of residence life at Earlham.

Prior to those positions, Wilson gained professional experiences in several positions at Stanford University involving international relations, housing assignment management and scholarships. She earned a master’s degree at Stanford in higher education administration and policy analysis. For the last 13 years, Wilson has been at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, as assistant director of residential life and as an instructor of learning resources. She earned outstanding staff and safety check awards in the Division of Student Affairs.

Wilson is a member of such professional organizations as the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, Association of College and University Housing Officers, Association of Higher Education and Disability and International Institute for Restorative Practices.
