The Local Initiatives Support Corp. in Indianapolis has announced Tedd Grain as its next executive director. Grain, who has served in the role on an interim basis since March, succeeds William Taft, who was promoted to senior vice president of economic development for the LISC national office.

Grain joined LISC Indianapolis in 2009 as a program office and later became deputy director. As executive director, he will be responsible for the strategic direction and guidance of all aspects of LISC’s work in Indianapolis.

"Tedd is a proven innovator who understands how to connect community groups, business leaders, policymakers and residents to create a more inclusive economy," said Maurice Jones, chief executive officer of LISC. "He has deep connections in the neighborhoods where LISC works and strong relationships with funders that are committed to safe and healthy communities. He is the right person to lead our growing work in Indianapolis."

In addition to his new role, Grain also serves on the boards of the Eskenazi Health Center, Renew Indianapolis, and EmployIndy.
