White River Valley Elementary School in Greene County used funding from the Indiana Rural Health Association for the technology, which will connect students with medical professionals with Greene County General Hospital and its My Clinics program.
Greene County General Hospital Chief Executive Officer Brenda Reetz says "students attending WRV Elementary span across the county with Worthington being one of the most rural. We are delighted to offer this service to not only help parents but to expand healthcare to our rural communities." The partnership includes laboratory services and the My Worthington Clinic location, as the branch is called, is the only medical clinic in the rural town.
WRV Elementary is the only of the county’s five elementary schools to have telehealth services. Green County General says the location is designed to treat illnesses, not provide wellness checks. The clinic will include two full-time nurse practitioners.
