Bosma Enterprises plans to use two recent grants to expand group training sessions at its rehabilitation center and to provide accessible transportation. Bosma recently was awarded grants from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust and Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation.

The $75,000 grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Trust will be used to support their Vision 101 Rehab Program, which is a week-long group training program to read Braille, use adaptive technology and navigate streets with a white cane. “Rehabilitation training is a must for someone who has recently experienced vision loss,” said Lou Moneymaker, CEO, Bosma Enterprises. “Obtaining basic living skills helps build confidence and ensures they will be able to live safely in their own homes and communities. The generosity of the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust ensures we will be able to offer these important services to a greater number of individuals.”

Bosma anticipates more clients, even after a 10-percent jump in senior participation. The Federal Transit Administration’s Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program, through IndyGo, granted Bosma $80,000 to provide two specially designed 2018 Dodge Caravans. The vans will be used to shuttle clients from their homes to rehabilitation programs.
