Jerry Raynor has been named Indiana state conservationist. He brings more than 25 years of experience as a leader in this field. Raynor previously served as assistant state conservationist of operations for North Carolina and state conservationist for Idaho. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University in Agricultural Business Management. Raynor is a graduate of the Emerging Leadership Development Program sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in partnership with George Washington University in Washington, DC. 

Starting as a student trainee with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, he has held several positions in North Carolina, Maryland and District of Columbia. Raynor has also served on Process Improvement Project Teams with the National Technical Service Provider Section and Strategic Planning and Accountability Deputy Area while living in Texas. 

He was chosen as speaker to represent the Emerging Leadership Development Program to NRCS National Leadership, has served as North Carolina’s NRCS Civil Rights Chairperson, holds several work and personal certifications and is an Ordained Deacon of his Church.
