Methodist Hospitals in northwest Indiana has appointed Ed Romero chief financial officer. He previously worked for Lutheran Health Network in Fort Wayne. Prior to joining Lutheran Romero had extensive experience with HCA, which is a for profit health system.

Romero recently served as market CFO at Lutheran where his primary responsibilities included building financial measurement tools while providing leadership assistance to the chief executive officer, chief operating officer, chief nursing officer, and chief medical officer as well as chief quality officer at a 432-license bed facility.

He was directly responsible for organizing and supervising the following operations: Patient Access, Shared Service Center, Finance and Accounting, Health Information Management, Case Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, Decision Support, and Net Revenue Reimbursement.

Romero has a Master’s of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio Texas, a Master of Professional Accountancy in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from Texas A&M University.
