Entryway Near Casino Debuts in South Bend
A new public gateway feature near the recently-opened Four Winds Casino in South Bend is complete. The Prairie Avenue Beautification Project includes four cedar flagpoles, landscaping and road and traffic signal improvements paid for by the casino’s owners, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians.
The roadway project is located at the junction of U.S. 20 and the U.S. 31 bypass on the St. Joseph County city’s west side. The Native American band opened the newest casino in its Four Winds brand portfolio at the beginning of the year, the full scope of which could include an investment total of $400 million. Other Four Winds properties are located in the Michigan cities of New Buffalo, Hartford and Dowagiac.
