EnCom Polymers Investing in Evansville
Evansville-based EnCom Polymers Inc. is bringing custom plastic production in-house. The company says it will invest nearly $15 million into acquiring the facility it currently leases, investing in new equipment and adding as many as 56 employees by 2021. EnCom Polymers also plans to add four production lines, a testing laboratory and an injection molder.
The company currently employs 14 in Vanderburgh County and says it will add 17 manufacturing and professional services positions immediately. Once the expansion is complete, EnCom’s production, business development, logistics, research and development, quality and safety and compliance departments will all be brought to the Evansville headquarters.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke says "EnCom’s decision to consolidate its operations in Evansville and its multi-million-dollar investment in training, facilities and equipment is a strong show of confidence in our city and local workforce. EnCom leaders thoroughly investigated other options and determined our community is the best place for the company’s future growth and prosperity."
The company’s customers include tier 1 and tier 2 automotive suppliers, as well as telecommunications, medical, electrical and electronic, material handling and industrial businesses. EnCom has been offered up to $550,000 in conditional tax incentives from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. You can connect to more about the expansion by clicking here.
