People for Urban Progress has named Andrea Cowley executive director. She will succeed Michael Bricker. Cowley most recently served as associate director of Dress for Success Indianapolis.

She will be tackling PUP’s ongoing initiatives including the Central State Connectivity Plan, IUPUI redwood reuse, workforce development training, the Daylight series and resource re-purposing. Cowley will guide PUP into a fresh chapter, beginning with a 10-year anniversary event this fall. Bricker will continue to serve as a design advisor and brand champion, assuming the role of director of public design to focus more specifically on project design and development.

In her 12 years with Dress for Success Indianapolis, nine of them as associate director, Cowley has helped to transform a small nonprofit into a prominent social service agency in Indianapolis. She has a B.S. in Journalism Graphics from Ball State University and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Indiana University School on Philanthropy.
