America’s Freedom Fest, which is being held Saturday at Goshen Municipal Airport, will feature the U.S. Army Golden Knights, as well as vintage planes from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
Organizers say attendance at the 2017 event exceeded 50,000 and this year’s event is expected to draw a larger crowd. The airshow will also feature the Phillips 66 Aerostars, a Korean War dog fight re-enactment between an F067 and MIG-17, and the Shelton Wing Walking Team.
Erin Shuttleworth, executive director of America’s Freedom Fest, says the vintage "warbird ramp" featuring former military aircraft not only serves as a historical reminder of how far the country has come in aviation technology, but also as a "patriotic symbol" of the county’s military efforts.
"Having warbirds be an inclusive part of America’s Freedom Fest is a celebratory element of the airshow," said Shuttleworth. "These vintage military aircraft are now operated and preserved by individuals and organizations. The warbirds are brought to Goshen for attendees to see, touch, and feel the history each of these vintage planes represent."
