Indianapolis-based StrataBlue has hired Ben Cheek as executive vice president of growth & partnerships. His duties include growing the firm, building relationships with new clients and nurturing partnerships with current clients, and curate the vision of the firm. Cheek is a graduate of Ohio University and has an MBA with a focus on marketing from the University of Phoenix.

He started his career as a tour manager and driving a 40-foot-long 1982 Eagle across the country for K2 Skis. After touring around with K2, he moved to a sales gig selling packaging solutions for a corrugated supplier in Seattle, Washington. Cheek gained a multitude of experience in management and sales while in Seattle but wanted to move back to experiential marketing. He joined GMR Marketing and started working on the Marlboro nightlife program in Park City, Utah – was then promoted and moved to Columbus, Ohio.

During this time, Cheek created a local staffing agency, SYNC Marketing – his first startup – and locked in his MBA in one of the first and only online programs offered at the time. After completing his MBA, he landed a job in Chicago with The Marketing Arm (USMP at the time) as a regional manager for AT&T where he created a mixed sales and experiential model selling AT&T U-Verse. Two years later, he was offered a spot at Marketing Werks to run the Verizon FiOS sales and marketing program.

Cheek left Marketing Werks in April of 2017 to pursue his own venture. He started FASEN8 with the idea of integrating a deeper relationship between experiential and digital marketing. During this time, StrataBlue became FASEN8’s technology and digital marketing partner. Throughout the course of six months, Cheek saw an opportunity to grow that relationship between experiential and digital marketing.
