Ranking: Elevate Ventures Top 10 in Early-Stage Investing
A global financial data and software company ranks Elevate Ventures near the top in a key category. PitchBook says the Indianapolis-based private venture organization is 10th most active among venture capital firms investing in angel-stage or seed-stage companies in the world. Elevate Ventures Chief Executive Officer Chris LaMothe will be a guest this weekend on Inside INdiana Business With Gerry Dick.
In 2017, Elevate Ventures invested in 26 early-stage Hoosier businesses and 35 overall. The 2017 Annual Global League Tables from PitchBook shows Elevate Ventures as number one the six-state Midwest Region. Between its founding and the end of last year, Elevate Ventures says it has invested $70.5 million in nearly 250 companies. Those funds, it says, have leveraged $420.7 million in capital, disbursing funding.
LaMothe says "perhaps another example of Indiana quietly going about its business, Elevate has been very active in pre-seed and seed stage investment. Very few organizations are willing to take that kind of risk – to be high velocity and high volume in terms of the number of companies we are backing. We have the opportunity to drive innovation and entrepreneurism throughout our state, we will continue to be aggressive doing so."
