The Witham Family YMCA has appointed Kim Newnam executive director. She has nearly 30 years of experience working in various positions at several YMCAs, most recently as associate executive director at the Benjamin Harrison YMCA in Indianapolis.

Newnam is a graduate of Ben Davis High School and Trine University, where she earned a degree in communications and physical education. She began her YMCA career working at the YMCA of Honolulu, followed by a stint at the Grand Rapids YMCA. Newnam has spent the last 21 years working at YMCAs that are a part of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis – the YMCA association that the Witham Family YMCA belongs to.

Shannon Russell, previous executive director, has been promoted to major gifts officer for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis in April. Russell will focus on developing partnerships and raising funds for the new Westfield YMCA project.
