The Indiana Broadcasters Association has announced four new inductees to the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Richard M. Fairbanks Hall of Fame. The class will be inducted this fall during the 2018 Indiana Broadcasters Conference.

This year’s inductees include Norman Cox, who served as the Indiana Statehouse reporter for WRTV in Indianapolis for 36 years before retiring in 2013. Radio host Bernie Eagan will also be inducted. Eagan has worked at Emmis Communications in Indy since 1981 and current hosts afternoons on WYXB-FM. Eagan announced earlier this year he would retire in July.

The IBA will also induct the late Al Hobbs, former on-air host and general manager of WTLC-FM in Indianapolis. Patty Spitler, former news anchor for WISH-TV in Indy and host of "Pet Pals TV," "Great Day TV," and "Boomer TV" will also join the hall.

"We look forward to celebrating the unique careers of these legendary Hoosier broadcasters," said Dave Arland, executive director of the IBA. "The diverse 2018 class is made up of TV and radio personalities who served as voices of and for their communities for decades helping to inform and entertain the state in their own, unique ways. With the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers, we are proud to honor Norm, Bernie, Al and Patty this year."

The honorees will be inducted November 1 at the Indiana Broadcasters Conference in Carmel.
